We are home to an active community center and two urban farms in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Our youth development, community building and community hiring programs are offered in-person and virtual six days a week.
Our Center
RHI’s community center is in the heart of Red Hook, where youth and residents can walk across the street from their homes to seek academic support, employment opportunities and local resources. Our center is 3,000 square feet warehouse space designed to best serve our participants in a sustainable, green building.

Red Hook Farms
Sustainably grown by youth farmers since 2002, Red Hook Farms harvests over 20,000 pounds of produce each year and nurtures our next generation of green leaders. Red Hook Farms is one of Brooklyn’s largest and original urban farms, and is home to the country’s first barter-based produce distribution on public housing land. The Farms operate a robust volunteer program, CSA, Fresh Food Box, farm stands, and school program.
